About AmIsPal

Americans for reasoned policy towards Israel and Palestine, or AmIsPal, is a group of students, young professionals, and concerned advocates for peace who strongly believe that strengthened, principled U.S. involvement in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict should be a priority for U.S. foreign policy in the region. We are a pro-Israeli and pro-Palestian advocacy group dedicated to achieving a fair, lasting peace. We help interested members and readers remain informed by writing issue briefs, inviting discussion, and circulating relevant news articles. We also coordinate advocacy and political action on the grassroots level through local AmIsPal chapters.

We stand by four major beliefs:
1) The strongest possible solution available to Israel and Palestine is a two state solution, closely resembling pre-1967 borders.
2) In order to preserve the dignity and territorial integrity of the Palestinian territories, settlement expansion in the West Bank must freeze; open, honest dialogues about settlements need to happen in the highest levels of American, Israeli, and Palestinian government.
3) Terrorism can never be accepted as a legitimate way to spur political change; if Hamas continues to engage in terrorist activity, they should not be legitimized, and organizations/parties that refrain from terrorist action and cleave to nonviolence in the face of injustice should be rewarded and strengthened.
4) The existence of a protracted conflict and dissatisfied populations in the Palestinian territories heightens tensions and destabilizes the region, and America should view progress towards a stable, equitable peace in Israel and Palestine as a vital component of an ongoing national security strategy.

AmIsPal is always looking for new partners to help it disseminate information, and new voices to sound the call for the pursuit of peace. We intend to feature multiple bloggers from college campuses and cities across the nation - feel free to submit stories to our e-mail, or contact us if you want to become more involved. We believe strongly in motivated individuals’ power to affect change, and we hope you will join us in envisioning and striving towards a more peaceful future.
